Drak Yerpa Cave: Drak yerpa has an importance as a pilgrimage site due to its long historical figures and prominent teachers who chose it as a retreat of choice. In vision of Songten Gampo, it was an auspicious site to built temple. The cave takes 7 hrs to walk from Lhasa. It is believed Guru Rinpoche has hid many religious treasures like his relics, begging bowl of Shariputra within the caves of Yerpa.  Several trails lead to the major caves.  The caves chapels are dedicated to many principal protectors like (Chenresi, Jampelyang, Chana Dorjee), right stone throne of Atisha, and to the northeast sacred pyramid to Yerpa Lhari, one of abode of Yerpa’s protective deity.
